The celebrations for the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Naíonra (nursery) at Gaelscoil Naomh Aogáin took place on Friday May 30th from 12noon to 3pm.
A huge crowd of present and past pupils and parents enjoyed the open-air activity in brilliant sunshine.
Activities abounded with the kind of teaspach which only the wonderful combination of youth and seasonality draws forth from everything around us.
The day was filled with face painting, jugglers, games, choir singing, Irish dancing and there was food enough to feed the neighbouring College Road and half of the town.
In the run-up to Friday’s celebration, a meitheal of parents took on the task of painting the school and they can be proud of their efforts. The renovations were part of the Naíonra 25 year’s celebration and also in preparation for the sixth class graduation on Friday, June 20th.
“The management and staff of Naíonra Gaelscoil Aogáin are delighted with the huge success of our 25 year Celebration. It was a great, festive occasion, filled with colour, laughter and fun. The glorious sunny day really added to this occasion,” said facility manager, Marie O’Leary.
“Many hours were spent in the organising of this celebration and it was well worth all the effort. We would like to thank all those who attended to support us on this very special day. We would like to thank all the sponsors and everyone who helped out on the day. We are now looking forward to the next 25 years with the Naíonra,” said Marie.
