Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club launched its 2015 fundraising Golf Classic without ceremony or fanfare at its Moanmore headquarters on Tuesday evening.
The event is scheduled to take place at Castleisland Golf Club on Saturday, July 4th – the day prior to the Munster Senior Football Championship Final.
As this will be the major fundraiser for the club for 2015 it is hoped it will attract huge numbers of club members and supporters from other clubs in the area and beyond.
“The club will leave no stone unturned in generating as much participation as possible. The entry fee for a team of three is €150 and this will also include a meal at the Castleisland Golf Club,” said club PRO, Pat Hartnett.
Among the attendance were past and current team and management members including: senior club chairman, Jimmy O’Connell; senior manager, John Brennan; development officer, Martin Downey; Patsy O’Donoghue; former senior team manager, Dr. Dave Geaney; Donal ‘Duke’ O’ Connor, former senior team manager; Tony Walsh, Walsh Colour Print and Educate.ie; John Pender, former secretary; James Lyons, assistant PRO; Willie Dom O’Connor, executive officer and Sean Mc Carthy, county board delegate.
Meanwhile, Castleisland Desmonds GAA Golf Society sent results from its outing to Killarney Golf Club – Mahony’s Point Course on Saturday.
