After the success of his initial Car-Boot-Sale toe-in-the-water earlier this month, Brian O’Sullivan is back for more. There are two red letter days for the converted traders in the locality to look out for: Bank holiday Monday, June 6th and Sunday, July 10th.
The next installment on Brian’s list will be at Castleisland Rugby Club grounds at The Crageens on bank holiday Monday, June 6th from 11am to 2pm. Traders are being asked to be on site at 9am to give themselves a chance to set up before the event is opened to the public.
Demand for Spaces
For his first taste of the car-boot-sale venture on Sunday May 8th Brian had 15 spaces filled with an additional five left over.
While he was delighted with that, he’s expecting a greater turnout on June 6th as word-of-mouth alone should push the numbers up – and there’s already a demand for spaces from seasoned traders.
“We were delighted with the turnout of local people for the first one and the comments after were very positive. The people who came to sell stuff here made a bit of money and they were talking about it afterwards. On that basis we hope to attract more on the bank holiday Monday – and we can make more space available in the same area – if we need it,” said Brian.
Cater for the Hungry
Admission is €10 per car or per trader and the public fee is €2 and children will get in free. There will be tea / coffee and toilet facilities in the clubhouse and there will be food stalls there as traders to cater for the hungry on the day.
Brian is also thinking ahead to the Monster Vintage Rally and Threshing Day which will be held on the yard of the Castleisland Co-Op Mart on Sunday, July 10th from 12noon.
That is going to be a massive day in Castleisland and the usual, early setting up times and prices-per-trader will apply. Brian O’Sullivan can be contacted on: 086 83 77 832
