Facilitator and Tutor
As a facilitator and tutor to a poetry writing class here in Castleisland, over a five year period up to 2015, Tommy Frank was an inspirational teacher.
Class organiser and course participant, Bridie Garvey worked with the late Mr. O’Connor up to the time when his pupils saw their work between the covers of a book under the collective title of Scríbhneoiri Sliabh Luachra Writers’ Group.
“He was a fantastic motivator and teacher,” said Ms. Garvey this morning.
“Probably the most important aspect of his time with us as a class was the time he gave us. He made time for those of us who needed it. The fact that we got our work together and into book form is a tribute to the encouragement he gave us all. May God rest him,” said Bridie.
