A free talk on brain health will be held at Lyreacrompane Resource Centre on Tuesday, February 21st at 7.30pm.
“Many people may feel that memory loss and dementia are inevitable parts of ageing. In this free brain health talk, Dr. Sabina Brennan of Trinity College, Dublin will explain that this is not necessarily the case,” said organising group spokesman, Larry Long.
Impact on Brain and Memory
“Ms. Brennan will explain that scientific evidence is starting to show that our lifestyle can have a major impact on our brain and memory in the longer term.
“The evidence to date suggests that its never too late or too early to start looking after our brain health.
“Think of it like a pension fund. Healthy brain habits now build the brain’s cognitive reserve. It’s a lodgement, like money in the bank for later in life.
Free of Charge – Places Limited
“Tickets are free of charge but places are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. Transport will be available from the Sliabh Luachra Active Retired Network catchment area. Contact 087 41 38 934 for further information,” Larry concluded.
