The first year boys from St. Patrick’s Secondary School, Castleisland were crowned winners of the Kerry Post Primary Schools First Year League recently.
To take the title they defeated Killorglin Community College but it took two games to separate the sides.
Draw After Extra Time
The first game ended in a draw after extra time.
This was played in Austin Stack Park, Tralee and the replay was played in the Dr. Crokes Pitch in Killarney.
The replay was also a very tight contest and scores were all square with time almost up.
Point by Daire Murphy
A point by Daire Murphy in the dying seconds of the game secured the title for the Castleisland boys.
Sean Cronin, the winning captain, accepted the trophy on behalf of the team.
