Sinn Féin’s junior spokesperson on Agriculture, Fisheries and the Marine, Martin Ferris TD, will officially launch Veon’s new regional office at the Advance Factory Unit, Castleisland Co-Op Mart, on Wednesday, September 6th. at 11am.

Farmers and Landowners Welcome

Veon is creating two positions at its new office in Castleisland to look after the South West region.

The new Castleisland base will be occupied by: Daniel O’Connell and Chris Byrne and they will welcome farmers and landowners to drop in for a chat about the options available to them under the new forestry programme.

With an additional seven foresters including two new regional managers appointed by Veon this year, it is now truly nationwide with offices in: Dublin; Enniscorthy Mart; Drumshanbo Mart; Athenry Mart and now in Castleisland Mart.

Veon specialises in commercial forestry enterprise for all types of woodland owners.

It is also Ireland’s largest purchaser of commercial forestry plantations for investor clients with access to a large database of potential sellers.

Veon has been in business for over 20 years offering forest management services to woodland estate owners, investors and farmers.

Forests in Ireland and Scotland

It has close on 14,000 hectares of forests throughout Ireland and Scotland. Plantations range in age class from establishment to thinning and are dominated by the main commercial species, Sitka spruce.

The company currently employs a staff of 27 and 16 of whom are qualified foresters to degree level.

All its foresters are technical members of the Society of Irish Foresters and on the Forest Service list of Registered Foresters.
