Kerry Parents and Friends Association

Since its formation in 1973 the Kerry Parents and Friends Association has always had a strong bond with Castleisland. Now, the association has a thriving, community based and supported centre, Glebe Lodge.

The aim of the association from the outset was to establish a network of support for people with an intellectual disability and their families.

The association is supported in Castleisland each year through the annual indoor market which was also founded in 1973 and in more recent years by the Humphrey Murphy Memorial 5K Road Race.
