Castleisland Camera Club has set up an exhibition in the local library which consists of photographs of the local area and its surrounds taken by club members.
“As part of this exhibition people have very kindly shared some of their old photos from these areas with us and these are being displayed alongside the members’ photos,” said club PRO, Breda McGaley.
Exhibition Running to September
“The exhibition will run all through July, August and September and we would encourage people to visit during each month as the photos on display will change over the time there.
“The library is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm. The exhibition is free to visit and people can go to our Facebook page if they wish to leave any comments.
Thanks for the Space
“We would really appreciate feedback from visitors. The camera club would like to thank Castleisland Library and Kerry County Council for giving us the opportunity to exhibit in their building. Thanks also to anyone who gave old photos for the exhibition,” Ms. McGaley concluded.

The Maine Valley Post has, is and always will be a free resource for the people of the locality and its wider diaspora.
When we started in 2013, the intention was to be a weekly, online newsletter. Over time, the site has evolved into a much different beast with multiple updates on a daily basis.
Because of its nature as a digital publication, it brings with it certain expenses: computers and cameras that require updating and maintenance; internet hosting and access; to say nothing of the time and hard work that goes into the site. It all adds up…
Our online community has always been our greatest asset and a vocal supporter of the Maine Valley Post since day one.
