Enquiries about accommodation in the Castleisland area are coming in already in relation to the Patrick O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival on the October bank holiday weekend.

The committee wishes to be in a position to provide up to date information to people travelling long distances to be here for that weekend.

Enquiry from Japan

People in the accommodation industry are asked to throw an eye over the list below to make sure it’s up to date and accurate.

A musician from Japan made contact during the week, on behalf of a group, enquiring if the festival was going ahead as news of the funding situation had reached them over there.

Book Accommodation

I assured him it is going ahead from Friday, October 26th to Monday 29th inclusive and he went ahead with his plans to book accommodation in town.

As far as the funding issue is concerned, the appeal launched last Friday night is working away and the target of €7,500 is inching closer with nearly half of the necessary amount raised already.

Friends at Home and Abroad

Donations from friends of the festival from at home and abroad were welcomed during the week and the committee, under the chairmanship of Cormac O’Mahony, has appealed for continued support until the target is met.

As it stands on this Friday evening it’s at €3,415 of the €7,500 needed and is tipping away steadily thanks to our friends everywhere.
