North Kerry League
Knocknagoshel started the season with a hard fought win over Duagh in the North Kerry League last Sunday.

Knocknagoshel, playing with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half, were first on the scoreboard with a point from Edmond Walsh before the home side replied with a point by Kieran Lucey.
Finished to the Net
In the fifth minute Knocknagoshel’s Denis Collins finished to the net and this was followed by a point from Edmond Walsh.
Duagh replied with points from Martin Scanlon, Dan O’Donoghue, Nigel O’Connor, Kieran Lucey and a goal by Aaron O’Connor.
Knocknagoshel added two point to leave the half time score 1-6 to 1-4 in favour of Duagh.
Converted Free
Edmond Walsh converted a free at the start of the second half to leave one point between the teams. The lively Nigel O’Connor and Kieran Lucey extended Duagh’s advantage to three before John Walsh and Nigel O’Connor exchanged points.
Duagh added two more before Knocknagoshel scored two goals in a three minute spell.
Green Flag Raised
Knocknagoshel punished a mistake in the Duagh defence to raise a green flag and shortly afterwards referee Gerdie Caroll awarded a penalty which Edmond Walsh despatched to the net. Two more points from Edmond Walsh and Niall Barrett left the final score Duagh 1-11 Knocknagoshel 3-8.
Next Game
Next fixture for Knocknagoshel is an away game against Ballyduff in the third round of the North Kerry League. This game is fixed for Ballyduff on Sunday 17th February with throw-in at 12 noon.
Knocknagoshel/Brosna/Duagh minor team will play An Gealtacht in Division 2 of the County League on Saturday 16th February in Knocknagoshel at 3pm.
Lotto Jackpot of €8,100
The lotto draw for a jackpot of €8,100 was held in The Village Inn on Saturday night last. The numbers drawn were 3,9,19,32. There was no winner of the jackpot.
The five lucky dips of €30 each were won by: John and Antoinette O’Keeffe, Knockbrack; Gerard Mangan, Knockbrack; Bernie Keane, Meenleitrim; Patricia Curtin, Knightsmountain and Caroline Blunden, Duagh.
Next Draw at Moynihan’s
The next draw will be for a jackpot of €8,200 and will be held in Moynihans Bar, Headley’s Bridge on Saturday 9th March 2019.

Membership rates for Knocknagoshel GAA for 2019 are: General membership €30, senior players €50, college students €30 and minor players €20. Benefits of membership are players are insured to play, ordinary members can use the track at the field and can seek tickets from the club for Kerry games. It is also a great way to show your support of the club. For anyone that missed out on registration night you can contact Dan Roche, John O’Keeffe or Michael Murphy to become a member for 2019. Knocknagoshel Clothes Collection
Knocknagoshel GAA are holding an ongoing clothes collection to help raise funds for the club. Bags can be left into the white lorry container near the log cabin at the Football Field. All types of clothes are accepted as well as shoes, handbags, curtains and towels. Please note that duvets are not accepted.
