Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club News Round-Up

U-13 Girls in Championship Semi Final

The Desmonds U-13 Girls travelled to John Mitchels to participate in the Sandra Keane Blitz on Saturday losing in the semi final to Ballymac after defeating Castlegregory, Dr. Crokes and Abbeydorney in their group games.

Well done to everyone that represented to club so well on the day.

The girls have reached the Kerry LGFA  U:13 Co. Championship semi-final on defeating Fossa on Wednesday evening in Castleisland. Well done to all the players and mentors.

Congrats Tomás

Congratulations to Tomás Lynch who made an appearance on Saturday and scored a point for the Kerry junior mens team as they defeated Galway to win the All Ireland Junior final in Portlaoise.

The team was captained by Cordal’s Philip O’Connor and Daniel Murphy from Scataglen was a selector and the manager was Brosna’s Jimmy Keane.

Desmonds Secure League Points

The Desmonds senior men’s team secured their second victory of the season in the Division 2 Co. League when they travelled to Brosna where they were victorious on the evening on the score of 2-15 to 13 points.

Thanks to the Brosna GAA Club for the food provided after the game of which was very much appreciated by all the players and management.

This weekend they are at home to Annascaul on Saturday evening July 27th in round 10 of the Division 2 Co. League with a 7:45pm throw in.

U-14 Boys in League Final

The Desmonds U:14 Boys have reached to final of the U:14 Central Region League with their victory over Milltown-Castlemaine in the semi-final on the score of 2-16 to 2-5 in John Mitchels Tralee.

Well done to all of the players and mentors on a great achievement.
