A pre-Christmas Charity Vehicle Run is just beyond the announcement stages and into the arena of finer detail planning.

Being organised as a fundraiser for the Kerry Hospice Foundation and on behalf of the Castleisland fundraising branch, the event will be held on Sunday, December 22nd.

Mart Yard Start and Finish

Vehicle owners are being asked to gather at the yard of the Castleisland Co-Op Mart at 12:30pm ahead of the 1pm start.

Tractors, cars, lorries, and bikes are all welcome and there’s a €20 per vehicle entry fee.

“If it has an engine bring it on,” is the clarion call for this event which will start and finish on the all event accommodating mart yard.

Prizes for Best Decorated

There are special prizes for the best, seasonally decorated vehicle with Christmas lights and decorations.

Post run ‘finger food’ and entertainment will be provided at Tom McCarthy’s Bar.

Kerry Hospice Foundation depends on a variety of fundraising events in the course of the year. Included among these are the annual, September coffee mornings and the summertime Sunflower Day.

Families and friends donate money to the foundation instead of flowers for their loved at funeral times.

Funding Initiatives Encouraged

The foundation encourages individuals, community groups and work colleagues to initiate events to generate funds in their localities or work places.

They cite events like raffles, quizzes, coffee morning or evening, head shave, gala ball, dance, fun run and so on as examples.
