The Gaelscoil Áogain Traditional Concert which had been scheduled to take place at the River Island Hotel on this Saturday night, March 14th has been postponed for reasons which have now become so everyday obvious.
Spokesperson, Karen Brennan-McKenna is emphasising the ‘postponed’ part of the announcement as the organisers are planning to hold the concert and its full programme in June to co-incide with the staging of the also rescheduled ‘St. Patrick’s Parade’ and associated events.
Impressive Line-up
The Gaelscoil concert had an impressive line-up of talent on its poster and that’s unlikely to change between here and June.
Nicky and Anne McAuliffe, Gabriel Fitzmaurice, Bríd Mills, The Tournafulla Wren Boys, Paddy Jones, Jimmy Cullinane, Gerald Culhane, Celia Regan, Michael and Kirill Healy were all on board for the event.
The organisers appreciate the level of support expressed for Saturday night’s doomed event and they look forward to a summer staging of their line-up in happier circumstances.
