Con Curtin Music Festival 2020 Cancelled

This year’s Con Curtin Music Festival, which was due to run from June 26th. to 28th. 2020, has been cancelled due to the continuing lockdown with the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It is with sadness that we say goodbye to our 20th year anniversary celebrations as everyone had been looking forward to a cracking festival of great music, song and dance,” said committee chairperson, Sheilagh O’Connor.

“We would like to thank all the musicians, singers and dancers who had agreed to perform.

“The festival committee would also like to thank the local community for your continued support and to wish you good health until we meet again,” said Sheilagh.

Saying Goodbye

Losing loved ones is never easy. Is there ever a good time to say goodbye to anyone who is dear to us?

Never has this felt more poignant than in the past week. Mrs. Margaret Lane and Mrs. Denise Sheehan were laid to rest this week in our Parish.

The loss of both these mothers will be keenly felt by their families and friends. It must have been very difficult for some relatives who couldn’t, for all the right and safe reasons, be at the actual funerals.

Solidarity and Support

Also as a parish, we weren’t able to be present physically to show our solidarity with both families but be assured that you are in our thoughts and we offer you what support we possibly can not just now but in the future.

Let’s also extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Richard Moloney of Rockchapel who passed away last week.

A Precious Commodity

Life is a precious commodity now more than ever. Let’s continue to support each other by respecting the Government guidelines, being patient with one another and deciding what positive life changes we will draw from this extraordinary time for our world.

Stay strong Brosna.
