“Sinn Féin has been saying for some time that the Leaving Certificate should not go ahead this summer,” – according to Deputy Pa Daly.
“Given the silence in the Roadmap for Reopening Society & Business on the Leaving Certificate, we feel it is less likely that it will proceed at the end of July,” Deputy Daly said.
Alternatives Considered
“We understand that the Department of Education is considering alternatives and we expect that a different approach will be suggested in the coming days.
“I have had calls from a number of students and parents stating that the Leaving Cert being held in July is simply unfair on all concerned,” he concluded.
