Friends of the female victim of Friday’s alleged assault at a flat on Castleisland’s Limerick Road have confirmed that she is still in hospital in spite of rumours to the contrary.
The rumour mill is in overdrive in the area since the alleged incident on Friday evening – to which locals were alerted by the sudden and rushed arrival of a Garda squad car to the scene on Friday evening to be followed by an ambulance which took the alleged victim to hospital – where she remains on this Monday morning.
Garda Forensic Sweep
A two-day sweep of the flat by a Garda forensic team came to a conclusion on Sunday evening leading locals to believe that there’s more to the situation than meets the eye.
The Garda press office confirmed this morning that a man, who had been living locally, was charged at a special sitting of Listowel.
“The man (30s) arrested in connection with this incident has since been charged.
He appeared before a special sitting of Listowel District Court on Sunday 8th August 2021 at 4pm,” according to the statement.
Meanwhile, candles, prayers and good wishes are being offered up for the return to health of the alleged victim.
