Sinn Féin TD for Kerry, Pa Daly, has criticised the decision by Government to permanently remove walk-in services from National Driver License Service (NDLS) centres.
Teachta Daly said that the option of walk-in services at NDLS centres was removed during the Covid-19 pandemic for public health reasons.
“Even with restrictions being lifted, the NDLS has confirmed that walk-in services will no longer be provided at any NDLS centre.
“This is more disrespect for our citizens who have poor broadband or who are not used to working or booking services online.
“Sixty percent of those over 80 are not online, and one-third of adults aged 50 and older who live alone do not have internet access.
“I am calling on government to reverse this decision and provide the option of walk-in services,” he said.
