Singer / songwriter / author and Eurovision Song Contest winner, Charlie McGettigan will take to the stage with Eleanor Shanley at Ó Riada’s Bar and Restaurant on Friday, January 20th from 9pm.

Two of Ireland’s most respected singers, singer / songwriter Eleanor Shanley and Charlie McGettigan, respectively, will do a live gig at Ó Riada’s Bar and Restaurant in Ballymacelligott on Friday, January 20th 2023 at 9pm.

Tickets are priced at €25 each and the event and ticket price is a break from the pre-Covid period of the dinner / concert format which applied at Ó Riada’s over those years.

Most Respected Singers

Eleanor Shanley is one of this country’s most vocally recognisable and respected singers today.

She performed with the ground breaking group De Danann and was a major contributor to the recording of the late Dessie O’Halloran’s stand-out CD The Pound Road which was recorded in Galway in the summer of 2001. She is also pursuing a successful solo career.

Charlie McGettigan is one of this country’s leading and best loved songwriters. His songs have been recorded by many Irish and international performers.

Eurovision Song Contest

In some circles he will be forever associated with Paul Harrington as they teamed up to win the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest.

This was during Ireland’s golden years of dominance of the competition with their entry ‘Rock n Roll Kids’ which was written by one time Castleisland resident, Brendan Graham.
