Ballymacelligott Drama Group has made presentations of cheques of €1,000 each to a number of local groups.

The drama group had a very successful production of ‘Love Knots’ by Jimmy Keary, in the Ivy Leaf Art Centre in Castleisland in March.

As they have done every few years in the past, the group wanted to acknowledge the support of the community by giving back to worthy local groups.

Chosen Recipients

“Following on from discussions, three groups were chosen: Kerry Cancer Support Group, Glanagneety Walkways and Castleisland Day Care Centre,” said group spokesperson, Siobhán O’Connor.

“These groups provide great service and support to all involved. Representatives from the Kerry Cancer Support Group and Glanageenty Walkways gladly accepted cheques at a presentation in Ó Riada’s Bar and Restaurant in Ballymacelligott on Wednesday night.

Delivered in Person

“The Castleisland Day Care Centre cheque was delivered in person by group member Angela Lenihan early on Thursday morning.

“Ballymacelligott Drama Group would like to thank everyone for their continued support and we look forward to being back on stage early next year,” said Ms. O’Connor.

More Good News for Glanageenty

There was further good news for Glenageenty Walkways in the aftermath of the Ó Riada’s presentation night.

The facility, as a national walkway, was inspected recently and at least 70% clearance is required from this thorough process to maintain its Fáilte Ireland status.

Glanageenty Walkways gained a 99% rating and, needless to say, the team members there are thrilled with the outcome.
