Scoil Mhuire agus Naomh Treasa / Currow National School Parents’ Association held a car wash fundraiser on the school grounds on Saturday.

The event was well supported with over 100 cars coming through the gates on the day.

The set up on the grounds was ideal and the activity was facilitated by the parents and teenagers most of whom were past pupils of the school.

Managed Car Flow

They managed traffic flow and washed cars all day long without stopping.

Attendees came in, parked their cars, availed of a selection of home baking and teas/coffees and socialised with the community while their car was being washed.

The treats were supplied by the parents of the school at the stand which was manned by pupils.

“Despite the weather warnings, the event was not affected and it held until after the last car was washed and the team was on clean up duties,” said association spokesperson Laura O’Sullivan.

A Great Succes

“The event was deemed a great success, and Currow National School and Parent’s Association would like to thank the parents and attendees for their support.

“We also wish to thank our event sponsors: Eleco Services – which provided rain harvested water; Irish Drain Services; Castleisland Motor Factors; Macs Auto Parts Castleisland and Halfords Tralee for providing equipment, services and significant support on the day,” said Ms. O’Sullivan.
