Walk on The Mild Side
The sun certainly shines on the virtuous as a large group of students, parents, teachers and fans turned out to walk in support of the Knockaclarig National School fundraiser.
The event was flawless from an organisational point of view, great fun and a sociable occasion.
The route up past the school was wreathed in autumn’s finest with goldens and russets framing picturesque streams.
How blessed we are to inhabit such a beautiful landscape and to watch the next generations race by with vigour and enthusiasm.
Was it only yesterday that we were all brimming with that limitless optimism? Well, regardless of age, that bright inner light is burning still. Throw off the layers that dim your flame. It’s time to shine!
Scoil Mhuire Brosna After School Service Provider
The current after-school service provider in Scoil Mhuire will finish up at the end of September.
The board of management is now inviting expressions of interest from alternative providers to continue the provision of an after-school service for the remainder of this year.
There is a plan to open a full day childcare service in the school to include a preschool from September 2024.
For more information you’re invited to contact John Cahill, principal on 087 1787353.
Christmas Cheer
It may seem a little ahead of schedule but I want everyone to put a big circle on your calendars.
On November 24th. from 5pm to 9pm Brosna Hall is hosting the Brosna Christmas Market.
This wonderful event is a great opportunity to pick up hand-crafted gifts for loved ones, enjoy some delicious foods, and perhaps a restorative glass or two of mulled wine.
I’ve had the great fortune to be at the previous markets and they were so enjoyable, meeting friends and being swept up in the happy vibes of community and Christmas.
Oh, and there’s a Monster Raffle too. All proceeds from the event will go to support our parish hall. Looking forward to seeing you all there. Ho ho ho!
