Young Scientists at Knockaclarig National School

Two children from Knockaclarig, one from fourth class and one in sixth class, attended the ‘Intel Mini Scientist’ regional final at Intel Shannon on 30th November 30th.

The children, Sienna Wooley and Lolah Dempsey, presented their project ‘The Orange Peel Appeal’ for adjudication.

Their project involved the making of chemical free and eco friendly detergent from orange peel.

The girls and their teacher Kieran Roche were delighted that they qualified to attend the national final of the competition in Kildare in early 2024.

Knockaclarig Carol Service

Joy to the World. A fabulous nativity play and carol service are taking place on Thursday, December 14th. at 7pm in St. Carthage Church.

This unforgettable event is a fundraiser for Knockaclarig National School.

Inspiration from Stars that Shine

Congratulations to all the GAA All Stars whose tremendous efforts were acknowledged nationally.

As a parish we are delighted to see the talented Lorraine Scanlon among the glittering recipients. So deserved. Congratulations to one and all. As players and people you never cease to inspire us!

Dazzling Launch for Festive Season

Well done to the fantastic committee that co-ordinated the recent Christmas Market.

The stunning tree, decorations, great stalls, musical entertainment, and delicious snacks created a joyful and flawless event. What a dazzling launch to our festive season.

Santa’s Dedicated Post Box

Brosna is definitely on the map this year with a dedicated Santa Post Box in our Post Office.

There’s no chance that your kiddie letters, and long loooooong lists of toys, will go astray. Two questions. First, is the Santa Post Box for kids only?  Second, do you think Santa could get John Hamm wrapped and under my tree by December 25th???

Hooley in the Hall – A Reminder !

The Hooley in the Hall for our more mature citizens will be held on December 10th at 2pm.

Roll up for music, sweet treats, and a bit of craic. It promises to be a cracker of an event.

Christmas Gifts – Shop Local

Each year I remind everyone to shop local where possible.

We have shops, creamery co-ops, retailers, beauticians, service providers, hair stylists throughout our parish and neighbouring communities.

Support local, where possible, and keep our local economy thriving. Thank you, you’re the best!
