A fascinating calendar covering hundreds of years of local history has been produced by Castleisland District Heritage.
The full colour almanac, sponsored by FBD Insurance, features some of the work of the group since its foundation as the Michael O’Donohoe Memorial Heritage Project in 2014.
This includes work on the history of Pound Road as well as the Presentation Convent, the poet Moss Tommy Reidy, Poff and Barrett, writers T M Donovan and Con Houlihan, John Twiss, Kenny of Ballymacadam, Bob Finn, Fathers William Casey and Arthur Murphy and the Earls of Desmond.
€10 Per Copy
The calendars, priced at €10 each, are available in local businesses in Castleisland and they have been designed by the group illustrator, Noel Nash.
They contains features such as an interactive QR code for the Con Houlihan Trail which, with a touch of a phone, will allow you to listen to Tommy Martin speak about the life and times of the late great journalist.
