Tim Moynihan, President of the Knocknagoshel Historical Association presented a cheque for €4,500 to Breda Dyland of the Kerry/Cork/Limerick Cancer Bus Fund.

The money was raised by the Knocknagoshel History Book, Past and Present 1890 to 2023 and a raffle in aid of this worthy cause.

The organisers would like to thank Walsh ColourPrint Castleisland for printing the draw cards free of charge and for the designing and printing of the book.

Supporters Thanked

A special word of thanks to the supporters of the raffle and the business firms who sponsored the many prizes. Editor Donal Murphy made a commitment to the officers of the Cancer Bus Fund and with the help of the book sales and two raffles was in a position to raise this considerable sum for the cause.

Rugby Club Donation

Breda Dyland and Trish Kelly were instrumental in advising and promoting the raffle. A special mention also to Dan Casey, chairman of Castleisland Rugby Club who arranged a considerable donation to the bus fund.

The book was launched on the last Friday evening of June 2023 at a packed Knocknagoshel Community Centre. Copies are still available here in Castleisland at: Jackie Reidy’s Menswear and Newsagents and O’Mahony Book Store, Tralee and Limerick – from where it has been made available in the USA and Britain.
