Cathy and Thomas O’Regan first got to hear about Féileacáin when they lost their twin boys Fionn and Paddy in 2015. Tragedy and grief would visit the family again on June 21st 2021 – “Our beautiful little girl Luisne was stillborn,” said Cathy.
“At this unimaginable and heartbreaking time in our family, Féileacáin were there to support us in our grief,” she said
“In University Hospital Kerry they provided us with a memory box in which we have the most beautiful keepsakes of Luisne with the help of the amazing midwives.
“Féileacáin provides a huge amount of support to families and is a not for profit organisation and relies on donations from the public.
In Memory of Luisne, Fionn and Paddy
“This is why we want to give back and thank them for all their support in memory of Luisne, Fionn and Paddy,” said Cathy.
On Saturday, June 15th Cathy and Thomas will be joined by parents who share the heartbreak of losing children when they tackle Carrantuohill in aid of Féileacháin.
“It will be a journey of acknowledgment of the lives our children never lived and one on which their spirits will go with us through every step of the way and, as always, through every day.
So Much Support and Care
Cathy from Currow and Thomas from Ballymacelligott said that their families and friends have been great to then and that their GP Dr. Fidelma Harrington of the Brooklands Clinic in Castleisland was fantastic and gave them great support and care during and after their traumatic events. “We can’t thank the midwives in UHK enough for all they did for us when we needed them most,” said Cathy.
