LGFA Action: Congrats to Brosna  / Knock and Kerry

Congrats to our amazing Brosna / Knock LGFA seniors who played their inaugural game at home on Thursday last.

They brought a great crowd of support who enjoyed the game and the fabulous sunshine. Wonderful to see many women back playing as well as some of the panel who are progressing from underage level.

From small acorns mighty oaks are grown. We’re looking forward to following your progress. By the way, anyone interested in sponsoring a set of jerseys for this team should contact them via Facebook.

And not forgetting a big applause to the Kerry Ladies who got past a strong Armagh side. Power on!

Bonny Boy Connie

I had the pleasure of meeting the very handsome Cornelius as he did his circuits of the football field tucked up in his pram.

Accompanied by his lovely mum, Denise O’Connor, this bonny boy is as placid as he is handsome. Congrats to Con and Denise who are the doting parents to this lucky young man. What a wonderful addition to our Parish.

Pride and Passion of Clare and Cork

The hurling final was a game of unequalled thrills. Neck in neck. These two heroic Munster teams brought to mind the epic battle of Cuchulainn and Ferdia.

But there was no healing balm that could be applied to Cork’s fatal wound when the final whistle was blown. A difficult outcome for the Rebels who cannot but be deeply proud of what their players produced in the championship. On such a day, a losing side seems almost unforgiveable.

Thought for the Week

What you Bring to the World is Valuable. Sometimes you’re plodding along. Completing your daily and weekly tasks like a sleepwalker.

It can become a little Eat Sleep Repeat at times. But don’t underestimate the value of what you bring to the world. It may feel unimportant those everyday small kind gestures you dispense to family, colleagues or neighbours but to them it might be one of the few moments in their day when they feel seen or heard. Rather than drift through these daily contacts why not be more conscious when you connect with those you encounter. Be truly present in your connections with others no matter how fleeting.

Notes Dedicated to Donie

Notes this week dedicated to Donie D who I met in the Post Office last week.

He gave me a timely reminder that I hadn’t got the notes published.. I told him I was delighted to know someone was reading them and had noticed the omission. I promised I would give him a shout out. Thank you Donie. Homework completed.
