One of those nominated by his cumann and many members of the Fianna Fáil party in Kerry, to be selected at their convention in Tralee next week says that he believes he is best placed to join Minister Norma Foley TD on the general election ticket, in order to secure a second seat for the party in the constituency.
Cllr. Michael Cahill said that taking into account experience, vote getting ability, work ethic, geography, etc, he is best placed to win a seat in the General Election contest to represent the people of Kerry.
Consistent Vote Getter
“I have shown myself to be a consistent vote getter in local elections for over 30 years, which proves that I have been delivering for the people of south, mid and formerly West Kerry for many years now and they know that they can trust me to represent them and their families” said the Rossbeigh based Councillor.
“I have worked hard for all my constituents for the 34 years that I have been a member of Kerry County Council and I believe I can continue this in Dáil Éireann, if selected by my party to run and secure a seat in the general election.
Ideally Placed
Living in Mid-Kerry, I am ideally placed in the middle of the constituency and easily accessible to all residents” said Councillor Cahill.
“I am 58 years of age and between my late father and I, we have almost 65 years of service given to our county and our people and yet neither of us have ever been given the opportunity to contest a general election on behalf of the party” he said.
Delivering the Second Seat
“I have proven vote getting ability and again received the highest vote of all Fianna Fáil candidates in Kerry in the recent Local Elections. My CV is very, very strong and I am appealing to both party members and head quarters to put me on, what I believe to be the dream team ticket for Kerry, Minister Norma Foley and Michael Cahill.
“I am just looking forward to this one opportunity to contest the upcoming general election and I will deliver the second seat for Fianna Fáil,” Cllr. Cahill concluded with conviction.
