Students from St. Patrick’s Secondary School Castleisland, ranging from first to fifth year, brightened the day of residents at the local day care centre as part of the recent Culture Night celebrations.

“The young musicians, armed with a variety of instruments including: guitars, tin whistles, accordions, concertinas, banjos, and fiddles, filled the air with a delightful melody of traditional and modern songs,” said teacher John Forrest.

“The performance proved a heartwarming experience for both the students and the residents. The enthusiasm and talents of the students brought smiles to the faces of thecentre clients.

“The initiative was a testament to the school’s commitment to community engagement and cultural enrichment.

“By sharing their music with the elderly residents, the students not only show-cased their skills but also made a positive impact on the lives of others,” said Mr. Forrest.
