Castleisland Community College Junior Cycle students of 2024 received their Junior Cycle Certificates on Wednesday.
The overall number of distinctions received by the 73 Junior Cycle students of 2023 stands at a fantastic 30- there were 17 distinctions in common level exams such as business, wood technology, science, history, art, graphics and geography, six distinctions in higher level papers in Irish, English and maths exams and seven distinctions in ordinary level Irish, English and maths.
A distinction means that the student achieved over 90% in their exam.
Excellent Standards of Teaching and Learning
‘Only a small proportion of students nationally received a distinction in the Junior Cycle exam of 2024 and the results from our students in the school reflect the excellent standard of teaching and learning.
“The results were certainly well above the national average. We are immensely proud of all our students who obviously worked diligently to achieve these results,’ said Principal Teresa Lonergan.
