St. Patrick’s Secondary School, Castleisland has recently started a well-being initiative in the school which involves walking / running the distance from St. Patrick’s Secondary School to New York.
In the development of well-being indicators of being active, being connected and being resilient, the team at St. Pats and all involved in the initiative will attempt to walk/run 4,931 kilometres by St. Patrick’s Day 2025.
“As this is a whole school community initiative, we are looking to connect with St. Pats alumni to help us to achieve our goal. If you are a past student, parent or sibling of a past or present student we invite you to join our quest,” said teacher John Forrest.
Well-Being of Students
“This activity also aims to promote fitness within the school and contribute to the overall well-being of students in the school.
“The initiative was launched just recently and to date we have over 700km completed by 100 contributors.
“To join the quest, you can create a Strava account on the link below and join the ‘Walk to New York’ group on the club’s section,” said Mr. Forrest.
