He marks the significant birthdays of every ‘body’ he knows in his area of undertaking with a card inscribed: Hope to See You Soon !
Today is his 60th birthday and I found myself singing Happy Birthday to him by phone in the middle of the road in Creamery Lane this afternoon with Breda O’Connor-Ahern and we were joined for the final chorus and good wished by Margaret Griffin-O’Leary.
You’ll have copped it by now that it’s the one and only Bernard Tangney I’m on about here and I couldn’t let the day go without sending him good wishes of every body in the parish.
Sense of Funeral Humour
Noted for his wit and sense of funeral humour, Bernard has also come to the attention of the many followers on the annual Patrick O’Keeffe Traditional Music Festival and especially those who read the adverts in the festival brochure.
Among classics like: “Let Bernard be the Last Man to Let You Down.” Free WIFI with Every Coffin and this year’s: “No Free Travel for O.A.Ps Here.”
Happy Birthday Bernard ÚHÚRÚ.
