A Big Thank You from Pat Murphy as he Packs his Bags for the U.S.A

Plumber and race walker Pat Murphy who is heading to Florida with hopes of off-setting the lingering effects of a stroke he suffered in May 2023. Pat wishes to thank all his friends who subscribed to his GoFundMe page to make the trip possible. Former international race walker Pat Murphy wants to genuinely thank all the people who supported his fundraiser for their kind and generous donation to his GoFundMe page and fundraiser.

Pat was hit with a life altering stroke on May Day 2023 and he has faced up to the challenge with a courage that typifies his attitude to his sport and to life itself.

“No illness is fun and no one should feel grateful for suffering but my stroke changed everything and my world was thrown upside down,” is how Pat described post stroke life for him.

How Precious Our Lives Are

“After a full year in three hospitals and now a full year at home I needed your help to improve my quality of life and I cannot express how much your donations mean to me.

“I could not have made this upcoming trip to the Institute of Neurological Recovery in the United States without your wonderful support.and encouragement.

“Now I truly understand how precious our lives are and how it can be taken away at any time.

“I thank you all for giving me the opportunity to explore all my options so I can live my best life.

“I am truly grateful for your kindness and don’t worry I won’t let you down,” said Pat as he prepares for his trip to the U.S.A.
