Spare a thought for our neighbours across the Co. Limerick border this morning as homes and the local GAA club have been flooded in Abbeyfeale overnight.
The worst of the flooding is reported to be in the Shanbally area of the town where some homes, the nd the River Feale are close and immediate neighbours.
Here at home the River Maine is coping well with the heavy overnight rain and the melting snow off the surrounding hills.
Fingers Crossed
And, though high this morning, any dry spells will allow its levels to back down from the brink. Before mid-day today its levels had already dropped by at least two feet.
Fingers crossed for whatever else is coming our way – and keeping in mind that we don’t ever get the worst of anything that’s going in the line of weather.
Spare a thought for our neighbours !
