Our powerful contingent of senior Ladies Gaelic Football Association players took to the pitch at the weekend for the first game of their footballing year.

Great to see everyone back from their break looking sharp and fresh. The camaraderie and enjoyment that’s clearly felt by this sisterhood of players is a joy to watch.

Anyone who has seen that Run like a Girl commercial video on You Tube will take great comfort that our women are standing back for no one. Power on, Ladies.

Thought For The Week

Put down your burden. If you are carrying guilt, regret, or anger towards others or yourself, just put it down.

Of course, it isn’t as simple as that. If you’ve been carrying this burden for years it will feel part of your.

In fact, your life might be defined by the burden, for example, a person weighed down with guilt about the past can be the first thing they tell other people about themselves.

But remember, what has happened has happened. You cannot go back and change the past but if you can say sorry for any wrongs done, if you can find forgiveness for others, if you can forgive yourself, your life will feel lighter. Those burdens we carry block the light from coming in.

It’s truly spring this week. Get the old psychological broom out and sweep out the corners of your mind and heart. Turn over that new leaf and live with loving compassion.

We are all capable of change. Start small and be brave.
