
A statement by Minister for Children, Disability, Equality and Kerry TD Norma Foley on the passing of Mick O’Dwyer.
“I am very saddened to learn of the passing of the legendary Mick O’ Dwyer, RIP. Heartfelt sympathy to his family.
“A giant of Gaelic football both as player and manager bringing honour, reward and distinction to his beloved green and gold and beyond.
A sportsman, a gentleman, a Kerryman, his legacy is rich.
“We are the lesser for his passing but greater for having had the benefit of his talent, ability and unique brand of sporting magic.
Rest easy now, Mick. Thank you for everything.”

We are very sorry to hear of the death of Mick O’Dwyer, R.I.P. The whole county of Kerry and the country are saddened today.
We commiserate with the O’Dwyer family and his thousands of friends.
Thanks for the great enjoyment he gave us as far back as we can remember. He was as solid as the bull rock out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean when it came to football.

The death has occurred of Michael ‘Micko’ O’Dwyer, Murreigh, Waterville, Co. Kerry.
It is with much sadness that we announce the death of Michael ‘Micko’ O’Dwyer of Murreigh, Waterville, Co Kerry.
Micko passed away peacefully in the care of the wonderful medical team in Kenmare Community Hospital on Thursday April 3rd 2025.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Geraldine, his sons John, Karl and Robert, his stepdaughter Emma (Shields), his daughters-in-law Geraldine, Mary, Sandra and Liz and his adored grandchildren Shane, Amy, Lynn, Pierce, Dylan, Clodagh, Lauren and his step grandchildren, Holly, Cathal and Emily.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Mary, his first wife, Mary Carmel and their son Micheal (Haulie).
Micko’s passing will be mourned by his many friends, neighbours and the entire GAA community.
May Micko’s gentle soul rest in peace.
Micko’s Funeral Arrangements
Reposing at Fitzgerald’s Funeral Home, Waterville, (V23 RK24) on Friday evening, April 4th. from 4pm to 8pm followed by removal to St. Finian’s Church, Waterville V23 XE75 arriving at 8-30pm.
Requiem Mass on Saturday morning, April 5th at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
