The death has occurred of Brendan Daly Dooneen, Castleisland, Co. Kerry and Direen, Scartaglin, Co. Kerry, January 17th 2016, peacefully, at Kerry General Hospital. Sadly missed by his loving wife Joan (Duggan), sons: Anthony and Brian, brothers: Gerard and Bertie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
The late Brendan Day was a member of the family which ran the post office on mid Main Street up to the early 1980s. He took a keen interest in the activities of the Castleisland Hurling Club which was set up here in the early 1970s and was a regular at games at home and away. His interest in the game was no match, however, for farming and a wave from the cab of his tractor was the closest contact I’ve had with him for years. May God be good to him.
The late Brendan Daly reposed at Tangney’s Funeral Home, Castleisland, on Monday evening from 5pm to 7pm followed by removal to Castleisland Parish Church. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11am. Burial afterwards In Kilbanivane Cemetery, Castleisland. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Palliative Care Unit Kerry General Hospital c/o Tangney’s Funeral Home. May He Rest In Peace.
