Kerry’s young singers and musicians did the county proud recently at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Ennis.
Four All-Ireland title holders joined Marian O’Flaherty for a special live show on Radio Kerry last Sunday night on Caint Chiarraí.
In studio were: John Power, Sliabh Mish CCE, All Ireland 12-15, 1st English Men Singing; Timmy O’Flaherty, Ballylongford/Tarbert CCE, All Ireland 15-18, 1st Banjo, 1st Mandolin, 2nd Uileann Pipes Slow Airs, 3rd Uileann Pipes; Cailin O’She, Sliabh Mish CCE, All Ireland Senior 1st Flute Slow Airs and Prionnsias Ó Cathasaigh, Craobh an Ághasaigh CCE, All Ireland 15-18, 1st Whistling.

A second show of Fleadh winners will go out this Sunday night, featuring Darragh Curtin, Brosna CCE, All Ireland Senior Fiddle champion. Darragh is the first competitor from Kerry to win the senior fiddle competition since it started back in 1951.
Caint Chiarraí
Darragh is joined by his brother Gearóid, a fellow All-Ireland champion in banjo at the Fleadh Cheoil. The brothers are the grand-nephews of famed Brosna musician, Con Curtin.
