The State Examinations Commission (SEC) has identified Luke Walsh as a high achiever in Maths and Science in the 2017 Junior Certificate Examination.
Luke is a Transition Year student at St. Patrick’s Secondary School here in Castleisland.
Irish EU Science Olympiad
From this pool of talented students, Luke has been selected to participate in the Irish EU Science Olympiad which will take place on November 11th at Dublin City University.
As a result, he is in with a chance of being selected to represent Ireland at the European Union Science Olympiad in Ljublijana, Slovenia in April 2018.
Deserved Recognition
“This is a great achievement for Luke, for his family and for the school and deserved recognition for Luke and for his teachers for the great work being done in this area,” said his school Principal Denis O’Donovan.
“We wish Luke the very best of luck and this will be a great learning experience for him and will be of huge benefit to him and his studies for the future,” said Mr. O’Donovan.
