Sheila Prendiville once dubbed / daubed him as ‘The Devil Painted’ – but in a funny kind of way.
He’s busy all day today and his phone has been abandoned and left at post or pillar. He’s out there somewhere celebrating a special birthday.
He’s David ‘Dauber’ Prendiville, former winger with Castleisland RFC in the good old days and he was engaged as a postman and in light work for years with the ESB.
Ideally Suited
His man-for-all-seasons approach to life led him to the other side of the bar in Sheila’s when things got tough on the big days.
He was ideally suited to this role too having more than served his time on the other side.
He’s now gaining an elder statesman status and he’s full of life and devilment.
Could Start a War
There have been times, while playing cards, that he could start a war. However, the world and its troubled pattern at present could do with a bit more of his ‘Aisy Pati’ attitude.
He’d have Mr. Trump and Kim Jong Un stuck in a game of Knock 31 in no time and neither of them could win with him at the table.
Happy Birthday Mr. Prendiville and may you enjoy many, many more.
