Chamber Alliance Invite to GDPR Seminar

Castleisland Chamber Alliance is organising a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) seminar on Friday, February 23rd from 10am to 1pm at the River Island Hotel.

This is free to all Castleisland business owners and their staff and will help ensure compliance with GDPR Regulations before the May 2018 deadline.

The event is being facilitated by Tom Martin of Constrain.ie

On completion of this course, participants will have an increased understanding of the new GDPR and how it will affect your business.  It will ensure that you know what steps to take in order to reduce the risks of a data protection breach and to ensure your department and business is GDPR compliant.

Half Day Course

The items covered during the day will include: Introduction to the GDPR; HR System and GDPR compliance; Data Storage and GDPR compliance; Subject Access Requests; Data Retention and the Right to Erasure; Data Protection Impact Assessments; Outsourcing Data Processing; Accountability and Breach Notifications.

This is a half day course and will be held at the River Island Hotel in Castleisland.

A Better Understanding

At the end of the course you and your employee’s will have a better understanding of your roles and obligations in understand how the GDPR will affect your department/business.

You will know what will be expected in relation to storage and maintenance of employee records; Know your obligations if you receive a subject access request; Understand your responsibility and obligations if your department outsources data processing to a third party and your obligations and accountability in relation to breach notifications.
