Ballymacelligott Drama Group is in the final throes of preparations before ‘putting on’ the play Where There’s a Will by the late Norman Robbins
“Set in Yorkshire, this is a comedy murder mystery with a twist or two, even three,” said cast member and spokesperson, Siobhán O’Connor.
The mourners from the late Edie Puddiphatt’s funeral return to her house where it turns out there is more than one will doing the rounds.
A Great Success
“The group previously performed one of Norman Robbins plays, Wedding of the Year in 2015 and it proved a great success.
“Our three performances will start at 8pm on Friday, 23rd, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th of February at the Ivy Leaf Art Centre in Castleisland,” said Siobhán.
The cast includes: Úna Kerins, Siobhan O’Connor, Maurice O’Connell, Tom O’Sullivan, Oonagh O’Rahilly, Gail Groves, Mick Bolger, Amanda Mannix, Roger O’Halloran and new comer, Jennifer O’Flaherty. The play is directed by Ita O’Brien.

Norman Robbins is considered one of amateur theatre’s most popular authors. He was an avid theatre-goer from the age of three.
His grand-parents ran a public house near the local theatre in his West Yorkshire home place and a supply of free tickets was readily available.
He began directing plays at the age of 18. In his mid 20s he went to drama school and within his first term made his professional acting debut. He was still writing up to his early 80s and up to a few days before his death in April 2016.
