Fianna Fáil Leader, Micheál Martin has said that he is deeply sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Marie McEllistrim.
“Marie was a passionate and loyal Fianna Fáiler. As the wife and mother of a TD, and mother to a Fianna Fáil County Councillor, Marie was at the centre of Kerry Fianna Fáil life for over 60 years.
“Her commitment to Fianna Fáil was absolute, as was her loyalty to her county but in particular to her community in Ballymacelligot.
“She was incredibly proud and supportive of her children’s accomplishments, and took great joy in seeing them elected to represent Fianna Fáil.
“On behalf of the entire Fianna Fáil organisation, I want to extend my deepest sympathies to her children, Thomas and Anne, and to her wider family. Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
“Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dhílis.”
Funeral Arrangements for Marie McEllistrim
Reposing at The Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee on this Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm.
Removal at 7.00 pm to The Church of The Immaculate Conception, Ballymacelligott. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11 am. Interment afterwards in Clogher Cemetery.
