Kerry Sinn Féin TD, Martin Ferris, has said that nurses protesting outside University Hospital Kerry today have his full support and have the support of the vast majority of the people of the county.

Stresses Involved

“The vast majority of the people of the county understand the stresses involved in working in a busy and under resourced emergency room such as at UHK,” said Deputy Ferris.

“Every family has at some stage had an experience of visiting the emergency department where they can see staff are run off their feet.
Glad to Lend Support
“I was glad to lend my support to the protest today as for too long our nurses and hospital staff have been taken for granted

“The conditions they have to work under are totally unacceptable and they need the proper resources to ensure that people are seen and treated in a timely manner.”

The Maine Valley Post has, is and always will be a free resource for the people of the locality and its wider diaspora.

When we started in 2013, the intention was to be a weekly, online newsletter. Over time, the site has evolved into a much different beast with multiple updates on a daily basis.
Because of its nature as a digital publication, it brings with it certain expenses: computers and cameras that require updating and maintenance; internet hosting and access; to say nothing of the time and hard work that goes into the site. It all adds up…
Our online community has always been our greatest asset and a vocal supporter of the Maine Valley Post since day one.
