Cllr. John Sheahan, Cathaoirleach of Killarney Municipal District teamed up at the weekend with Castleisland librarian, Eileen Murphy at the presentation of certificates to the children who completed the Summer Stars Reading Adventure at Castleisland Library.
Reading Programme
Summer Stars is a nationwide, library based and focused reading programme which is available free of charge to all children across the country.
The Summer Stars Reading Adventure ran throughout the summer in public libraries all over Ireland.
Invited to Register
Children were invited to register for the adventure and enjoy reading many books as part of the adventure during this time.
All participants were given a Summer Stars Reading Card to record and track their own progress. The summer over, there were rewards and incentives in a grand finale event for all participants.
