Sinn Féin TD Martin Ferris has offered his condolences to the family of Emma Mhic Mhathúna, who has sadly passed away.
Great Saddness
“It was with great sadness that I learned the news of Emma’s passing. I want to offer my deepest sympathies to her relatives and friends and especially to her children, Natasha, Seamus, Mario, Oisin and Donnacha whom she adored,” said Deputy Ferris.
Emma’s Contribution
“I want to recognise the contribution that Emma made to public discourse surrounding our health services and especially Cervical Check Screening.
“Emma knew there was no hope for herself but she continued to fight for proper health services for those she leaves behind.
“I hope her legacy will be the provision of a proper screening service for all women,” Deputy Ferris concluded.
Ryan Tubridy Tribute
Just a few minutes ago, and in the course of a moving tribute to the brave woman he came to know – and stayed in touch with – RTÉ Radio / Television presenter, Ryan Tubridy described his late friend as ‘One of life’s truly remarkable people.’
The death has occurred of Emma Mhic Mhathuna (née Duffy) Ballydavid, Kerry
Comforted by her family in the wonderful care of the staff of the Palliative Care Unit, University Hospital, Kerry.
Most precious mother and best friend to Natasha, James, Mario, Oisin and Donnacha. Predeceased by her mother Annette and sadly missed by her father Peter, aunts, uncles, god-daughter, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.
Funeral Arrangements
Emma’s Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday (9th October) at 11am in Seipeal na Carraige, Baile na nGall with removal thereafter to St. Mary’s Pro Cathedral, Dublin for Funeral Mass on Wednesday (10th October) at 12.45pm followed by burial in Laraghbryan Cemetery, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.
Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu to Brother Kevin Crowley, Capuchin Day Centre, Bow Street, Dublin. House strictly private.
