Castleisland District Macra Club members are into the spirit of Christmas. They’ve just donated five Christmas hampers to Castleisland Day Care Centre with one to be won each day of next week.

“We chose Castleisland Day Care Centre because we recognised that they provide an excellent service to the senior citizens in our community,” said club PRO and Kerry Macra President Aoife O’Hanlon.

Busy Playing Bingo

“When we called with the hampers they were busy playing bingo but they kindly paused their game and made us feel very welcome.

“We introduced ourselves and shared our Macra club stories so far. It was lovely hearing their stories from when they were members of Macra. Some of the people there told us that it was through being members of Macra that they found their wives or husbands.

Christmas Goodies

“Everyone in Castleisland District Macra had fun putting the hampers together. We gathered all the Christmas goodies we could think of like mince pies, chocolates Christmas pudding and lots more.

“We would like to wish everyone in Castleisland Day Care Centre a happy healthy Christmas and all the best for 2019.

Invite to Join Macra

“If you know anyone interested in joining our Macra club they can do so by simply finding us on facebook at Castleisland District Macra,” said Ms. O’Hanlon.

The Christmas hampers were presented to the day care centre by club Chairman Gearoid O’Shea with Secretary, Christine Buckley and Aoife O’Hanlon, PRO.
