Today sees the start of the local election postering campaign in the county and members of Sinn Féin in Kerry have requested that its posters would be as environmentally friendly as possible.
To this end the party has ordered paper posters and has recycled previously used ‘corriboard’ posters.
Significance of Posters
“We recognise the significance of posters in an election campaign and how important they are, especially for first time candidates,” said Castleisland area candidate Kate McSweeney.
Ordered Paper Posters
“However we also recognise how unfriendly corriboard posters are to the environment and to that end we have ordered paper posters from a local Kerry printer and we have also recycled previous election posters to be used throughout the county in the coming weeks,” said Ms. McSweeney.
Municipal District Name Change
There is a amendment to the order of the Kerry Local Electoral Areas and Municipal district in which Castleisland now finds itself.
By order of the Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government, John Paul Phelan, TD., Article 4 of the County of Kerry Local Electoral Areas and Municipal Districts Order 2018 has been amended and we will now be voting in the Castleisland-Corca Dhuibhne Municipal District.
