Killorglin-based John Francis Flynn has been added to the list of Fianna Fáil candidates to contest next year’s local elections in the South and West Kerry constituency.
The National Constituencies Committee for Fianna Fáil added Mr Flynn to the ticket after a recent meeting of members. He will join Cllr Michael O’Shea, Cllr Paul O’Donoghue and Brendán Fitzgerald in contesting the election for Fianna Fáil.
Mr Flynn commented: “I am delighted to accept the nomination from the Fianna Fáil party and its members to contest the local elections in South and West Kerry. I will leave no stone unturned to ensure that I am elected to Kerry County Council for Fianna Fáil.
“I already know of the many problems that people face throughout this constituency from Dingle to Kenmare and back to Valentia Island, but I now intend to go out and meet as many constituents as possible to hear personally what can be done for them.
“As a 22-year-old, I want to fight for the future of all the people in County Kerry, especially younger people who deserve a voice at Kerry County Council when, for example, decisions are made on the best way to encourage investment into the county.
“Young people are the future of this amazing county and want them to be properly represented at Kerry County Council.”
