Teachers and students in St. Patrick’s Secondary School were delighted to have some of the Leaving Cert class of 2021 call in to visit last week.
At the start of the week Brian Culloty called in as he was heading off to NUIG to begin his studies in Medicine.
“Our new first years were delighted to meet Brian and present him with a diary to help plan and organise his year ahead,” said teacher Tim Long.
First Week in Uni
“Later in the week, Gearoid Coffey and Bryan Daly dropped in after their first week in the University of Limerick.
“They met with first years from their former primary schools and chatted with them about what it meant to be a student of St. Pats and discuss their progression to studying PE and Sciences Education in Limerick.
“We at St. Patrick’s Secondary School pride ourselves on our strong links with the local community and on a keen sense of community spirit within the school.
Mapping the Road
“None more so than seeing these recent pupils mapping out the road ahead for current first years! “As such we wish all our past pupils, both very recent and more distant, the very best in their endeavours. We know they will strive to be their very best.
“It was fitting that these events were preceded by a visit from Minister for Education and Skills, Norma Foley, TD, where she congratulated the school on the excellent Leaving Certificate results received by the class of 2021.

“The Minister made special mention of how she was looking forward to calling back to officially open the newly upgraded technology room when indoor visits allow. We look forward to her return,” said Mr. Long in conclusion.
